SAFETY: With independent suspension, and a low center of gravity, the trailer is extremely stable minimizing bounce. Its unique design will never allow the unit to sway while being towed at highway speeds.

USER FRIENDLY: ScootaTrailer™ can be easily connected & dis-connected from the tow vehicle. Since the trailer has a swivel caster wheel in the front, it is easy to roll the trailer to the vehicle, rather than backing the vehicle to the trailer. The trailer also allows complete access to any vehicle’s rear trunk or hatch, while still connected to the tow vehicle.
IS IT HARD TO BACK UP: For some, it can be awkward to back. However, a benefit of ScootaTrailer™ is that you rarely have to back up. Before parking, try to select a place that will allow pulling forward when it’s time to leave. If backing up is the only option, remember that the trailer is tall enough to be visible through the rear-view mirror.
EASY TO ROLL: Our engineers created space between the load ramp (in the up, travel position), and the aluminum top (in the closed, travel position), to be able to put two hands on top of the ramp, which allows one to grasp it similar to grabbing hold of a shopping cart handle, and thus move it around similar to a shopping cart. The amount of space, between the cover & the ramp, is enough to grasp it at the top of the ramp. With the front caster jack wheel working like the shopping cart front wheels, we’ve created a shopping cart ScootaTrailer, so to speak.

Q. How much does the ScootaTrailer ™ weigh?
A. It weighs a total of 285 lbs., and only places 35 - 75 lbs. directly onto your tow vehicle's trailer hitch. If you choose to add the optional aluminum top, which only weighs 50 lbs., your total trailer weight will only increase to 335 lbs., making it one of the lightest enclosed transporters of mobility scooters and power chairs in the industry. Yet, one of the most impressive features is it's 600 lb. carrying capacity! (And, at this time we are not aware of any power chair or scooter that weighs that much!)
Q. Can this trailer be towed behind small vehicles? Examples: Chevy Cavalier, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Tesla, Ford Focus, Honda Accord, Volkswagon Beetle, etc.
A. YES! If there is a trailer hitch available for whatever vehicle you wish to tow with, whether it's a sub-compact, full size, or SUV, it is capable of towing the trailer. (Remember! The trailer weighs 285 lbs., and only places 35 - 75 lbs. directly onto your tow vehicle's trailer hitch.) The total weight, including your chair or scooter, would never exceed 900 lbs. total weight. Therefore, ANY class one trailer hitch on ANY vehicle is enough hitch!
Q. Can it be towed at normal highway speeds?
A. YES! The ScootaTrailer™ is equipped with high speed bearings and E-Z lube greaseable spindles. Also, the tire rating is a considerably higher capacity than is required. And, best of all, the trailer's unique design will never allow itself to sway behind any vehicle at any speed, at anytime.
Q. Will the trailer bounce around while being towed?
A. Bounce is very minimal. Actually, the axle supporting your scooter is a soft, rubber ride suspension axle called a 'torflex', and will adjust to road conditions.
Q. How much effort does it take to lift the loading gate to travel position?
A. Very little! In fact, with the tailgate in the lowered position, it will require lifting only nine pounds (which is less than most vans equipped with spring assisted side loading ramps).
Q. How do I load my power chair or scooter onto the trailer?
A. The ScootaTrailer™ is designed with a very low profile.....only nine inches gravity. Therefore, the angle of approach is very slim. Simply guide your unit while it powers itself into travel position as you walk beside it. You may back it on or go forward. The choice is yours. It will not affect the towing of your unit. Using the tie down rings and straps provided, secure your unit so that it remains stationary during transport.
Q. How do I know if my mobility device will fit in the ScootaTrailer™ ?
A. As long as the mobility device fits within the dimensions of the trailer listed in the specifications and is less than the total weight, there should be no issues.
Q. If I purchase a ScootaTrailer™ can I still park in handicap parking areas?
A. To answer this question, we asked several people the primary reason they use handicap parking in the first place. Simply put: Most answered it was so they would not have far to walk to the front door. Obviously, if they were hauling a scooter anyway, they would be riding it to the front door; not walking. So, handicap parking would not be as much an issue.
Q. Will I be able to see the trailer when I get ready to back up? And, how difficult is it to back up?
A. The trailer's tailgate is tall enough that it is visible through your rear view mirror. While it can be frustrating to back since it is a small trailer, it does however, back very similar to a 4' x 8' trailer. And with a little practice you may be amazed at how quickly you catch on. Another point of view may be this:
Why back up in the first place? The next time you're in a shopping mall parking lot, pull slightly ahead into the next space so that you're headed forward when it's time for you to leave. And remember, the next time you pull into your driveway you may simply want to use the swivel jack and caster wheel that comes on every ScootaTrailer™. After disconnecting it from your tow vehicle, easily roll the unit into your garage. Now you're ready for your next trip.

(A) Scoota-Trailer Return Policy
Inspect your product upon delivery. The consideration for return, as stated in line item number three, does NOT include any damages which may have occurred during shipment of the product. In fact, the moment the product leaves the premises of the manufacturer it immediately becomes the sole property of the purchaser. It is most important that upon delivery, the recipient thoroughly inspect the product to satisfy that it is being received in perfect condition, and without damage. If damage is found, it will be the complete responsibility of the recipient to identify (and to make known), this damage prior to signing the acceptance page for the delivering freight company. The manufacturer accepts NO responsibility for damaged freight. Claims must be dealt directly by the recipient, and with the freight carrier who is delivering the product!
The product, known as ScootaTrailer™, is non-returnable***, except in the case of a manufacturing defect, and will be considered for a return for exchange or repair as the manufacturer deems necessary. (See the next line item)
The recipient of the product, either merchant or consumer, will have ten (10) days, from and including the day of delivery, to inspect it for any manufacturing defects. If the product is delivered and there are no reports of defects in materials or workmanship by either merchant or consumer within the allowable ten (10) day period, the product will be entirely non-returnable. A return is only allowed so that an exchange can be made. There will be NO return with regard to a refund, and no such refund is either expressed or implied, either written or verbal.
If the manufacturer concludes that there is, in fact, a defect, the manufacturer, at its discretion, will repair or have repaired, or replace the product without cost to the merchant or the consumer. If the manufacturer chooses to call for a return rather than having it repaired, there are several steps that must be followed and are required.
An invoice "bill of sale" and a document called "certificate of origin" is always mailed by 'priority mail' to the address that was provided to the manufacturer. It is never shipped inside the box or container with the product. This document is the ONLY legal tie to the product. A 'return goods authorization' number can be issued without the manufacturer having received these documents first. However, NO exchange will be issued until these original documents have been received by the manufacturer.
What is a 'return goods authorization', or RGA number? It is simply a number given by the manufacturer designated for identification and verification of the product being returned. If a return for exchange is allowed by the manufacturer, an RGA will be required, and must be written boldly on the outside of the package being returned. ANY products that are returned without a valid RGA number indicated on the box will be refused. To acquire an RGA number contact ScootaTrailer, LLC at (336) 764-3323.
The merchant or consumer will be responsible that the product is in it's original box and on the original pallet, undamaged and unused. If either party does not have the original box and pallet, or if the packaging is torn or impaired, it may not protect the content. When the product is received an inspection will be done to consider what damages may have occurred because of improper packaging. Any damages that occur to the product and deemed by the manufacturer as a fault of improper packaging, (this does not include the defects claimed within the ten day inspection period), will be charged to the purchaser and those charges will be collected by the manufacturer before a replacement unit will be issued. If new boxing is necessary, one may be purchased at the cost of the box and the pallet plus shipping. Once the product is received by the manufacturer in its new condition, other than the claims made against manufacturer defect(s), the manufacturer, will ship a replacement unit and mail a new 'certificate origin' to replace the one returned, at no cost to the merchant or consumer.

1) A Federal Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is issued.
2) A 'Certificate of Origin' for the VIN is created (per Federal law).
3) An invoice 'bill of sale' is created and printed with name & address, and also includes the seventeen digit VIN that was issued. The information on the invoice matches the information that appears on the 'certificate'.
4) Also created, is a warranty sheet, an order confirmation sheet, a maintenance & use guideline and assembly instruction sheet. And, of course, a shipping 'bill of lading' is also created.
*** Re-establishing identity and ownership of a vehicle involves voiding all documentation, as well as creating new invoices and documentation for the cancelled unit(s). This is not only costly, but takes time to complete. Therefore, refunds will require two to three weeks from the day a cancellation confirmation is received.

Q. How do I load my power chair or scooter onto the trailer?
A. The ScootaTrailer™ is designed with a very low profile.....only nine inches gravity. Therefore, the angle of approach is very slim. Simply guide your unit while it powers itself into travel position as you walk beside it. You may back it on or go forward. The choice is yours. It will not affect the towing of your unit. Using the tie down rings and straps provided, secure your unit so that it remains stationary during transport.
Q. How do I know if my mobility device will fit in the ScootaTrailer™ ?
A. As long as the mobility device fits within the dimensions of the trailer listed in the specifications and is less than the total weight, there should be no issues.
Q. If I purchase a ScootaTrailer™ can I still park in handicap parking areas?
A. To answer this question, we asked several people the primary reason they use handicap parking in the first place. Simply put: Most answered it was so they would not have far to walk to the front door. Obviously, if they were hauling a scooter anyway, they would be riding it to the front door; not walking. So, handicap parking would not be as much an issue.
Q. Will I be able to see the trailer when I get ready to back up? And, how difficult is it to back up?
A. The trailer's tailgate is tall enough that it is visible through your rear view mirror. While it can be frustrating to back since it is a small trailer, it does however, back very similar to a 4' x 8' trailer. And with a little practice you may be amazed at how quickly you catch on. Another point of view may be this:
Why back up in the first place? The next time you're in a shopping mall parking lot, pull slightly ahead into the next space so that you're headed forward when it's time for you to leave. (A) Scoota-Trailer Return Policy
Inspect your product upon delivery. The consideration for return, as stated in line item number three, does NOT include any damages which may have occurred during shipment of the product. In fact, the moment the product leaves the premises of the manufacturer it immediately becomes the sole property of the purchaser. It is most important that upon delivery, the recipient thoroughly inspect the product to satisfy that it is being received in perfect condition, and without damage. If damage is found, it will be the complete responsibility of the recipient to identify (and to make known), this damage prior to signing the acceptance page for the delivering freight company. The manufacturer accepts NO responsibility for damaged freight. Claims must be dealt directly by the recipient, and with the freight carrier who is delivering the product!
The product, known as ScootaTrailer™, is non-returnable***, except in the case of a manufacturing defect, and will be considered for a return for exchange or repair as the manufacturer deems necessary. (See the next line item)
The recipient of the product, either merchant or consumer, will have ten (10) days, from and including the day of delivery, to inspect it for any manufacturing defects. If the product is delivered and there are no reports of defects in materials or workmanship by either merchant or consumer within the allowable ten (10) day period, the product will be entirely non-returnable. A return is only allowed so that an exchange can be made. There will be NO return with regard to a refund, and no such refund is either expressed or implied, either written or verbal.
If the manufacturer concludes that there is, in fact, a defect, the manufacturer, at its discretion, will repair or have repaired, or replace the product without cost to the merchant or the consumer. If the manufacturer chooses to call for a return rather than having it repaired, there are several steps that must be followed and are required.
An invoice "bill of sale" and a document called "certificate of origin" is always mailed by 'priority mail' to the address that was provided to the manufacturer. It is never shipped inside the box or container with the product. This document is the ONLY legal tie to the product. A 'return goods authorization' number can be issued without the manufacturer having received these documents first. However, NO exchange will be issued until these original documents have been received by the manufacturer.
What is a 'return goods authorization', or RGA number? It is simply a number given by the manufacturer designated for identification and verification of the product being returned. If a return for exchange is allowed by the manufacturer, an RGA will be required, and must be written boldly on the outside of the package being returned. The merchant or consumer will be responsible that the product is in it's original box and on the original pallet, undamaged and unused. If either party does not have the original box and pallet, or if the packaging is torn or impaired, it may not protect the content. When the product is received an inspection will be done to consider what damages may have occurred because of improper packaging. Any damages that occur to the product and deemed by the manufacturer as a fault of improper packaging, (this does not include the defects claimed within the ten day inspection period), will be charged to the purchaser and those charges will be collected by the manufacturer before a replacement unit will be issued. If new boxing is necessary, one may be purchased at the cost of the box and the pallet plus shipping. Once the product is received by the manufacturer in its new condition, other than the claims made against manufacturer defect(s), the manufacturer, will ship a replacement unit and mail a new 'certificate origin' to replace the one returned, at no cost to the merchant or consumer.

(B) Cancellation Policy prior to shipping.
There will be a $500.00 per unit cancellation charge once the unit(s) is ordered, but has not shipped. Reasons for the charge are listed below.
At the moment payment is received for this product, documentation is immediately prepared and processed.
1) A Federal Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is issued.
2) A 'Certificate of Origin' for the VIN is created (per Federal law).
3) An invoice 'bill of sale' is created and printed with name & address, and also includes the seventeen digit VIN that was issued. The information on the invoice matches the information that appears on the 'certificate'.
4) Also created, is a warranty sheet, an order confirmation sheet, a maintenance & use guideline and assembly instruction sheet. And, of course, a shipping 'bill of lading' is also created.
*** Re-establishing identity and ownership of a vehicle involves voiding all documentation, as well as creating new invoices and documentation for the cancelled unit(s). This is not only costly, but takes time to complete. Therefore, refunds will require two to three weeks from the day a cancellation confirmation is received.
